Watch multiple Twitch streams at once
Stream Mix lets you watch several Twitch channels and chats in one customizable browser workspace. You can keep an official tournament broadcast beside player perspectives, compare creators covering the same event, or follow several speedruns without managing a stack of tabs.
How to add multiple Twitch streams

Copy a creator’s channel URL, such as
https://www.twitch.tv/twitch. - Paste the URL into the Stream Mix header. Twitch is selected automatically and the channel name is extracted for you.
- Choose Stream + Chat, Stream, or Chat depending on what you want the window to contain.
- Select Add, then repeat the process for every Twitch channel.
- Drag windows by their title bars and resize them from either lower corner.
You can also select Twitch manually and enter only the channel name. Both
twitch and twitch.tv/twitch identify the same channel.
Stream Mix is designed for live channel pages; Twitch clips and video-on-demand
URLs are not currently supported.
Choose the right Twitch display mode
- Stream + Chat loads Twitch’s combined experience so you can watch and participate in the same window.
- Stream keeps the window focused on video and works well for secondary perspectives where you do not need chat.
- Chat is useful when the main broadcast is already open elsewhere or when you want several community conversations beside one primary stream.
A practical tournament layout is one large Stream + Chat window for the official broadcast, with smaller Stream windows for player perspectives. If the workspace becomes crowded, minimize channels you want to keep for later or enable Compact mode to reclaim the space used by site and window headers.
How Twitch embeds work
Stream Mix uses Twitch’s official player and chat embeds rather than
restreaming the video. Twitch requires embedded experiences to know the
domain that contains them, so Stream Mix supplies the current hostname
automatically. This is why production embeds use
streammix.app while local testing uses
localhost.
Account actions and chat can still depend on Twitch authentication, browser cookie settings, privacy extensions, and Twitch service availability. The embedded player also needs enough room to display its controls, so a very small window may be difficult to use. See Twitch’s official embed requirements for the platform-level rules.
Troubleshoot a Twitch stream or chat
The URL is not accepted
Use the channel’s main URL rather than a clip, category, search, or VOD
page. If necessary, select Twitch and enter the channel name shown after
twitch.tv/.
The channel is offline
Twitch’s player will show the channel’s offline experience instead of live video. The window is still valid and can remain in your saved layout for the next broadcast.
Video works but chat or account controls do not
Check whether the same channel works directly on Twitch, then temporarily disable strict tracking protection or content-blocking extensions for Stream Mix. Some authenticated Twitch features require cookies that a privacy-focused browser may block inside an iframe.
Several streams stutter
Every active player decodes its own video and uses additional bandwidth. Lower the quality of secondary channels inside the Twitch player, mute audio you do not need, use Chat-only windows where appropriate, or minimize streams until you need them again.
