Watch multiple YouTube live streams at once
Stream Mix arranges multiple YouTube live broadcasts in one browser workspace. Keep an official event feed beside alternate camera angles, creator commentary, or several live chats, then resize each window around the perspectives that matter most.
How to add multiple YouTube live streams
- Open the watch page for the live stream you want to add.

Copy its URL, such as
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIDEO_ID. - Paste the URL into the Stream Mix header. YouTube is selected automatically and the video ID is extracted.
- Choose Stream + Chat, Stream, or Chat and select Add.
- Repeat for the other broadcasts, then drag and resize the windows.
Stream Mix recognizes standard youtube.com/watch?v= links, shortened
youtu.be/ links, and YouTube /live/ or
/embed/ URLs. You can also select YouTube manually and enter the
video ID directly. A channel homepage is not enough because each YouTube broadcast
has its own video ID.
Choose video, chat, or both
- Stream + Chat places the embedded player and live chat side by side in one resizable window.
- Stream gives the video the full window and is the best choice for small secondary feeds.
- Chat shows only the conversation for that video, which can be useful beside one large primary broadcast.
YouTube players remain independent: play, pause, quality, captions, volume, and fullscreen are controlled inside each embed. Stream Mix does not synchronize broadcasts, and live feeds may naturally be several seconds apart because their creators and YouTube delivery settings differ.
When YouTube live chat is available
The Chat and Stream + Chat modes are intended for a currently live broadcast or Premiere whose creator has enabled live chat. Chat is disabled for made-for-kids content, and a creator can turn it off for any stream. Scheduled broadcasts that have not started and videos without an active embeddable chat may show an unavailable message.
YouTube requires the chat embed to include the domain of the page displaying
it. Stream Mix supplies that value automatically for both
streammix.app and local development. YouTube also states that embedded
live chat is not available on mobile web, so the chat-focused workspace is best
used in a desktop browser. Read YouTube’s

Troubleshoot a YouTube stream or chat
The URL adds the wrong item or is not accepted
Use the URL of the individual video rather than a channel or search page. In
a standard watch URL, copy the value after v= if you want to enter
the ID manually.
The player says the video is unavailable
First open the same video directly on YouTube. The broadcast may have ended, be private, have a regional or age restriction, or have embedding disabled by its owner. Those restrictions are enforced by YouTube and cannot be bypassed by Stream Mix.
Video works but live chat does not
Confirm that the broadcast is live and that chat appears on its YouTube watch page. If it does, check browser tracking protection and content-blocking extensions. Chat may also require signing in to YouTube before you can send messages.
Playback becomes slow with several videos
Multiple high-resolution players can use substantial CPU, memory, and bandwidth. Lower the quality of secondary feeds, pause video windows you are not watching, switch some panels to Chat only, or minimize them to the bottom shelf.
